Return to your hotel after sightseeing.

Overnight: Vilnius

After breakfast, travel to Trakai, the former medieval capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

The town is famous for its spectacular 15th-century Trakai Island Castle, situated on an island surrounded by beautiful lakes.

Explore the castle and learn about Lithuanian history, including the lives of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. The castle also provides an insight into the history and traditions of the Karaite community, brought to Lithuania from Crimea by Grand Duke Vytautas.

Return to Vilnius in the afternoon.

Later, visit the KGB Museum, housed in the former headquarters of the Soviet security services. The museum provides a sobering insight into Lithuania's Soviet-era history and the experiences of people who were interrogated, imprisoned and deported during that period.

Return to the hotel.

Overnight: Vilnius

After breakfast, depart Vilnius and travel towards Riga, the capital of Latvia.

En route, stop at the remarkable Hill of Crosses, one of Lithuania's most important pilgrimage sites. Thousands of crosses have been placed here over generations, making it a powerful symbol of Lithuanian history, faith and national identity.

Continue your journey towards Riga.
